The man was healed at once, and he picked up his mat and started to walk away. But this happened on a Sabbath day,

Because Jesus was doing things like this on the Sabbath day, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him.

One Sabbath day, Jesus went to eat in the house of a well-known Pharisee. While he was there, he was being carefully watched.

One Sabbath day Jesus was walking with his disciples through some grainfields. His disciples began to break off heads of grain and eat them.

After he said that, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the spit, and put the mud on the man’s eyes.

They brought the man who’d been blind to the Pharisees.
