Jesus answered, “Even if I am a witness about myself, what I say is valid. I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I’m going.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? Whenever I speak to you, I’m not saying those words on my own authority. Rather, the Father who lives in me is doing his work.
All this time, have you been thinking that I’ve been speaking up for myself? No, I’ve been speaking with God as my witness, as a believer in Christ. Dear friends, everything I do is to help you become stronger.
I’ve made a fool of myself, but you forced me to. You should have been the ones to praise me. I’m not the least bit inferior to the “super-apostles,” even though I’m nothing.
then what about the one the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why do you accuse me of doing wrong because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?
“So you’re a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I’m a king. The reason I was born and came into the world was to be a witness to the truth. Everyone who is on the side of truth listens to me.”
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first to rise from the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. Jesus loves us and has set us free from our sins by his blood.
