From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. To God’s chosen people, who are living away from their land. You’re scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.

There were some Greeks among the people who’d gone up to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast.

They’ve been told that you teach the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from the Law of Moses. They think that you teach those Jews to give up our Jewish ways and not circumcise their children.

When they heard this, they didn’t question or criticize Peter any longer. Instead, they praised God and said, “So then, God has allowed even Gentiles to turn away from their sins and find life!”

This made the Jews ask, “Is he going to kill himself? Is that why he’s saying, ‘You can’t come where I’m going’?”

as a light to shine on the Gentiles and as glory for your people Israel.”

After this, Jesus traveled around in Galilee. He didn’t want to travel around in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him.

But other believers from Cyprus and Cyrene went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also. They told them the good news about the Lord Jesus.

At Iconium, Paul and Barnabas went into the Jewish synagogue, as they usually did. They spoke there with great power, and large numbers of Jews and Greeks became believers.

He won over some of the Jews, who joined him and Silas. A large number of Greeks who worshiped God joined them too, as did quite a few important women.

Every Sabbath day he went to the synagogue and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks to believe.

I’m not ashamed of the good news. It’s the power of God that can save everyone who believes, first the Jews and then also the Gentiles.
