Jesus told them, “I’m only going to be with you for a short time. Then I’ll go to the one who sent me.

But now I’m going to the one who sent me. None of you is asking me, ‘Where are you going?’

“My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I am telling you now: You can’t come where I’m going.

“I’m coming to you now, but I say these things while I’m still in the world so that those you gave me can have the same joy that I have.

I’m not going to remain in the world any longer. But they are still in the world, and I’m coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they can be one just as you and I are one.

I came from the Father and entered the world. Now I’m leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

They can be made right with God because I’m going to the Father and you won’t see me anymore.

Before long, the world won’t see me anymore, but you’ll see me. Because I live, you too will live.

Jesus knew that the Father had put everything under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God.

It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Jesus had always loved his disciples who were in the world, and he now loved them to the very end.

When the Lord Jesus had finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven, where he sat down at the right hand of God.

We must do the works of the one who sent me while it’s still day. Night is coming, when no one can work.

Truly I tell you, anyone who believes in me will do the works that I’ve been doing. In fact, they’ll do even greater things, because I’m going to the Father.

“You heard me say, ‘I’m going away and I’m coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you’d be glad that I’m going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

Jesus told her, “Don’t hold on to me, because I haven’t ascended to the Father yet. Instead, go to those who believe in me and tell them, ‘I’m ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
