John 7:1

Radiate New Testament

After this, Jesus traveled around in Galilee. He didn’t want to travel around in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him.

“But when the renters saw the son coming, they said to one another, ‘He’s supposed to inherit all the owner’s property someday. Come on, let’s kill him, and then everything will be ours.’

Didn’t Moses give you the law? But not one of you obeys the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

If people attack you in one place, escape to another. Truly I tell you, you won’t finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power, because God was with him.

This was the second sign that Jesus did. He did it after he came back from Judea to Galilee.

When the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask John who he was,

But you’re looking for a way to kill me—a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do the things you want to do.

I know that you’re Abraham’s children. But you’re looking for a way to kill me, because you don’t have any room for my word.

At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they’re trying to kill?

When the chief priests and the teachers of the law heard about this, they began to look for a way to kill Jesus. They were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

Some time after this, Jesus crossed over to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. (It’s also known as the Sea of Tiberias.)

At the feast, the Jewish leaders were watching for Jesus. They were asking, “Where is he?”

But no one would say anything about him openly because they were afraid of the leaders.

The Jews asked each other, “Where is this man planning to go, if we won’t be able to find him there? Will he go to where our people are living scattered among the Greeks, and will he teach the Greeks there?
