Whoever speaks on their own does it to get personal glory, but anyone who works for the glory of the one who sent him can be trusted. There’s nothing dishonest about him.

We weren’t expecting people to praise us. We weren’t looking for praise from anybody, not from you and not from anyone else, even though we could have demanded respect as apostles of Christ.

I’m not seeking glory for myself. But there is one who seeks it for me, and he is the judge.

I don’t depend on human testimony, but I mention John’s witness so that you can be saved.

Jesus answered, “If I bring glory to myself, my glory means nothing. My Father is the one who brings glory to me, and you claim him as your God.

Jesus saw that they were about to come and make him be their king whether he wanted to or not. So he went away again to a mountain by himself.

You accept praise from one another, but you don’t seek the praise that comes from the only God. So how can you believe?

God the Father gave him honor and glory when the voice of the Majestic Glory came to him and said, “This is my beloved Son. I’m very pleased with him.”

This is what God wants you to do. Remember, Christ suffered for you, and he left you an example that he expects you to follow.

But you still refuse to come to me and receive life.

and I know that you don’t have the love of God in your hearts.

They loved praise from people more than praise from God.
