The one who comes from above is above everything. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks like someone from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above everything.

He has now gone into heaven, and he’s at God’s right hand, with angels, authorities, and powers under his control.

He’s the one who’s going to come after me. I’m not even worthy to untie his sandals.”

You know the message that God sent to the people of Israel. It’s the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

The first covenant had rules for worship, and it also had an earthly sanctuary.

This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who came before me, because he was there before me.’

John was a witness for him. He cried out and said, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who came before me, because he was there before me.’ ”

He must become greater; I must become less.”
