John 20:25

So they told him, “We’ve seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side where the spear went, I won’t believe.”

So they asked him, “Then what sign will you give us so we can see it and believe you?

When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she’d seen him, they didn’t believe it.

And who did God swear an oath about, that they would never enter the rest he planned for them? Didn’t he swear that oath about the people who didn’t obey?

Brothers and sisters, make sure that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Simon Peter, “It’s the Lord!” As soon as Peter heard that, he put his shirt back on (he’d taken it off to work) and jumped into the water.

The first thing Andrew did was find his brother Simon and tell him, “We’ve found the Messiah!” (Messiah means Christ.)

Jesus said to them, “How foolish you are! How long it takes you to believe all that the prophets said!

“He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s supposed to be the king of Israel. Let him come down from that cross, and we’ll believe in him!

The two returned and told the others about it, but the others didn’t believe them.

Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples as they were eating. He had strong words for them for being so unbelieving and hard-hearted. He told them they should have believed the people who’d seen him after he rose from the dead.

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
