Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them right to the top.
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They don’t have any wine left.”
There were six water jars nearby made from stone. The Jews used water from that kind of jar to wash themselves so that they would be pure and clean. Each jar could hold 20 to 30 gallons.
Then he told them, “Now take some out and bring it to the person in charge of the banquet.” So they did what he said.
