So Judas came to the garden, guiding a group of soldiers and some officials sent by the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns, and weapons.
They were having their evening meal. The devil had already put in the mind of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, the scheme of handing Jesus over to his enemies.

As soon as the chief priests and officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. I haven’t found any basis for a charge against him myself.”
