“I’ve told you these things so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you’re going to have trouble. But be encouraged! I’ve already defeated the world.”
Peace I leave with you; I give my peace to you. I don’t give to you the way the world does. So don’t let your hearts be distressed, and don’t be afraid.
But you, dear children, are from God, and you have defeated these enemies. That’s because the one who’s in you is greater than the one who’s in the world.
Fight back against him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is going through the same kind of suffering.
There they strengthened the disciples, encouraging them to remain faithful to what they’d been taught. “We have to go through many hard times to enter the kingdom of God,” they explained.
‘If anyone wins the victory, I’ll give that person the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne.
I answered, “Sir, you know.” He said, “They’re the ones who’ve come out of the time of terrible suffering. They’ve washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
They won the victory over him by the blood of the Lamb and by speaking the truth about Jesus to others. They didn’t love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
and to bring all things back to himself through what Christ has done, everything on earth and in heaven. God made peace through Christ’s blood, by his death on the cross.
Finally, brothers and sisters, be joyful! Work to make everything right with one another. Encourage one another and agree with each other. Live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
I don’t ever want to brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through that cross, the world has been crucified to me and I have been crucified to the world.
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. The church respected and obeyed the Lord and was encouraged by the Holy Spirit, and it grew even larger.
Abraham gave him a tenth of everything he’d captured in the battle. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of what is right.” Then, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”
Some men brought him one of their friends who couldn’t walk and was lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Don’t be discouraged, son. Your sins are forgiven.”
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as if we were prisoners in Christ’s victory parade. He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere like perfume.
But we’re like clay jars that hold a valuable treasure. We carry the good news around in these earthly bodies of ours to show that its mighty power comes from God and not from us.
Fathers, I’m writing to you because you know the one who is from the beginning. Young men, I’m writing to you because you’ve won the battle over the evil one.
