Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey my teaching. The words you hear me saying aren’t my own. They belong to the Father who sent me.

Jesus answered, “What I’m teaching doesn’t come from me, but from the one who sent me.

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? Whenever I speak to you, I’m not saying those words on my own authority. Rather, the Father who lives in me is doing his work.

So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you’ll know that I am. You’ll also know that I don’t do anything on my own. I speak just what the Father has taught me.

Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courtyard, cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I’m from. I’m not here on my own authority. The one who sent me is true. You don’t know him,

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have. Give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.”

Truly I tell you, we speak about what we know, and we’re witnesses about what we’ve seen. But you people still don’t accept our testimony.

“I’ve spoken all these things while I’m still with you.
