No one has ever seen God. But the One and Only, who is God and who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

God said, “Let light shine out of darkness.” And he made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light we needed to know God’s glory, which is shown in the face of Christ.

All the prophets speak about him and say that everyone who believes in him has their sins forgiven through his name.”

The Word became human and made his home with us. We have seen his glory the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

When I heard this, I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I’m God’s servant, just like you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to what Jesus taught. Worship God! The Spirit of prophecy tells the truth about Jesus.”

The Spirit of Christ in them was telling about the sufferings of the Messiah and the glory that would follow. They wanted to find out when and how this salvation would come.

Jesus answered, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I’ve been with you for so long? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

You study the Scriptures carefully because you think they will give you eternal life. The same Scriptures you study are also a witness about me.

Jesus explained to them what was said about himself in all the Scriptures, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets.
