Peter sent them all out of the room, and then he got down on his knees and prayed. He turned toward the dead woman and said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up! Roll up your mat!” And Aeneas got up right away.

“Fellow Israelites,” Peter said to them, “why does this surprise you? Why are you staring at us, as if we had made this man walk because we were so good or powerful?

Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold, but I will give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

I know that you always hear me, but I’m saying this for the benefit of the people standing here, so they’ll believe that you’ve sent me.”

And the dead man came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with strips of linen and there was a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him go.”

Six days before the Passover Feast, Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus lived. He was the man Jesus had raised from the dead.

Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there in Bethany. They came out not just to see him but also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead.
