God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Father, I pray they will be one, just as you are in me and I am in you. I want them also to be in us so that the world will believe that you have sent me.

The Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. We have seen this and are witnesses to it.

That’s why he’s able to save completely and for all time people who come to God through him. Jesus never stops praying for them.

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, with loud cries and tears he prayed to and pleaded with the God who could save him from death, and God listened to him because of his reverence.

God did what the written law was not able to do, since it was weakened by our sinful desires. God sent his Son to be an offering for sin. He sent him in human form like those who are susceptible to sin. When God did this, he passed judgment against sin so that it could no longer control people through their wrong desires.

But these signs have been written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in his name.

“Righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I know you, and they know you’ve sent me.

I gave them the words you gave me, and they accepted them. They knew for certain that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

But I know that even now God will give you anything you ask for.”

Do you think I can’t ask my Father for help? If I did, he’d send an army of more than 70,000 angels right away.

But then the chosen time came, and God sent his Son. He was born to a woman, and he was born under the authority of the law. This was so he could set everyone free who was under the authority of the law.

When the Jews who’d been comforting Mary in the house noticed that she’d gotten up quickly and gone out, they followed her. They thought she was going to the tomb to mourn there.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I’ve come here from God. I haven’t come on my own; God sent me.

The one who sent me is with me. He hasn’t left me alone, because I always do what pleases him.”

But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I’m not alone. I stand with the Father who sent me.

Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

since many of the Jews were starting to follow and believe in Jesus because of him.

The crowd that had been with Jesus when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to tell everyone about what had happened.
