So she ran to Simon Peter and another disciple, the one Jesus loved. She told them, “They’ve taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”
He replied, “Come and see.” So they went and saw where he was staying. They went at about four o’clock in the afternoon, and they spent the rest of the day with him.
“Don’t be distressed,” he said. “You’re looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He’s not here! He has risen! Look, this is where his body was.
When Jesus saw her crying, and he also saw the Jews who’d come along with her crying, it made him angry and distressed that death caused so much sorrow.
