“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives up his life for the sheep.

Jesus gave his life for our sins. He did this to set us free from the evil age we’re now living in.

who gave his life to pay for our sins. In fact, he not only paid for our sins, he also paid for the sins of the whole world.

At that time Jesus was filled with joy through the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you’ve hidden these things from wise and educated people and shown them to little children. Yes, Father, this is what you wanted to do.

He gave himself for us to set us free from all wrongdoing and purify us, so that we can be his very own people and be eager to do what is good.

Christ set us free from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. It is written, “Everyone who is hanged on a pole is under God’s curse.”

You don’t know him, but I know him. If I said I didn’t, I’d be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey his word.
