I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

The bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Here’s a saying you can trust and accept completely: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I’m the worst sinner of all,

“Truly I tell you, anyone who doesn’t enter the sheep pen through the gate, but who climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

Be like the Son of Man, who didn’t come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life to set people free.”

That’s why he’s able to save completely and for all time people who come to God through him. Jesus never stops praying for them.

When God made his promise to Abraham and his family, he wanted them to know that he’d never change his mind.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You don’t enter yourselves, but you won’t let in other people who are trying to enter.

Well then, you who claim to teach others, won’t you even teach yourself? You preach against stealing, but you steal!

“Make sure you don’t look down on one of these little ones. I tell you, their angels in heaven see face to face my Father who is in heaven.

Then he taught them, saying, “It is written that the Lord said, ‘My house will be called a house where people from all nations can pray.’ But you’ve made it a ‘den for robbers.’ ”

But he didn’t say that because he cared about the poor. He said it because he was a thief. Judas was in charge of the moneybag, and he used to help himself to what was in it.

“It is written,” he told them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’ ”

But you still refuse to come to me and receive life.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives up his life for the sheep.
