No one has ever seen God. But the One and Only, who is God and who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is the first, and he’s over all creation.

No one has seen the Father except the one who has come from God. Only he has seen the Father.

“My Father has given everything to me. No one knows the Son except the Father. No one knows the Father except the Son—and anyone the Son chooses to show the Father to.

“My Father has given all things to me. No one knows who the Son is except for the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except for the Son and anyone the Son chooses to make the Father known to.”

No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.

God is the only one who can’t die. He lives in light that no one can approach. No one has seen him and no one can see him. Honor and power belong to him forever. Amen.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his only Son into the world so that we could receive life through him.

We also know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding so that we can know the God who is true. And we are in the true God by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

If anyone claims to love God but they hate a brother or sister, they’re a liar. If they don’t love their brother or sister, even though they’ve seen them, they can’t claim to love God, when they haven’t seen him.

I’ve made your name known to them, and I will continue to show you to them. Then the love you have for me will be in them, and I myself will be in them.”

“I have revealed your name to the disciples you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.

Jesus answered, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I’ve been with you for so long? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

The Word became human and made his home with us. We have seen his glory the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.

May the eternal King, who will never die, who can’t be seen, and who is the only God, receive honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The disciple Jesus loved was next to him at the table.

Truly I tell you, we speak about what we know, and we’re witnesses about what we’ve seen. But you people still don’t accept our testimony.

The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they can’t see the light of the good news that makes Christ’s glory clear. He is the image of God.
