My brothers and sisters, most of you shouldn’t become teachers, because you know that those of us who do teach will be judged more strictly.

They want to be teachers of the law, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they think they do.

Don’t act like dictators towards those who are under your care. Instead, be good examples to the flock.

God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, guiding, and speaking in different kinds of languages.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You don’t enter yourselves, but you won’t let in other people who are trying to enter.

I was appointed to be a messenger and an apostle to preach the good news. (I’m telling the truth; I’m not lying.) God appointed me to be a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

So Christ himself has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers as gifts to the church.

We must all stand before Christ to be judged, and then each of us will receive what we deserve for the things we did while we were in our bodies, whether they were good or bad.

Have confidence in your leaders and put yourselves under their authority, because they’re keeping watch over you as people who will have to answer to God for everything they do. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden. It wouldn’t help you at all if you made their work more difficult.

The rich man called him in and said, ‘What’s this I hear about you? Turn in your accounts, because you can’t be my manager anymore.’

I was appointed to be a messenger, an apostle, and a teacher of the good news.

Jesus answered, “You’re Israel’s teacher, but you don’t understand these things?

“The student isn’t greater than the teacher, and the slave isn’t greater than the master.

“If you don’t judge other people, then you won’t be judged yourself. If you don’t condemn others, then you won’t be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked the disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers. Among them were Barnabas, Simeon (also called Niger), Lucius from Cyrene, and Manaen, who’d been brought up with Herod, the ruler of Galilee. Saul was among them too.

Don’t let anyone fool you, my dear brothers and sisters.

My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

Praise and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, it shouldn’t be like that.
