So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! He offered himself to God without any flaw through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. His blood washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

So let’s draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings. Our hearts have been sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Instead, you were bought with the priceless blood of Christ. He was a perfect lamb without any flaws at all.

But if we walk in the light, just as he is in the light, then we share life with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us pure from all sin.

He didn’t enter by shedding the blood of goats and calves. Instead, he entered the Most Holy Place by shedding his own blood, once and for all time. In that way, he paid the price to set us free from sin forever.

“He himself carried our sins” in his body on the cross. He did that so, free from sins, we would lead godly lives. “His wounds have healed you.”

Christ also suffered once for sins. Someone who did right suffered for those who did wrong, in order to bring you to God. Jesus was put to death in the body, but he was made alive in the Spirit.

Unlike the other high priests, he doesn’t need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people. Instead, Jesus made one sacrifice for the sins of the people, once and for all time, when he offered himself.

As a result, they don’t live the rest of their earthly life following wrong human desires. Instead, they live to do what God wants.

The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

He gave himself for us to set us free from all wrongdoing and purify us, so that we can be his very own people and be eager to do what is good.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first to rise from the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. Jesus loves us and has set us free from our sins by his blood.

So let’s move on beyond the basic teachings about Christ and grow up as believers. Let’s not start all over from the beginning. We already know that we need to turn away from doing things that lead to death. We know that we must have faith in God.

Don’t offer any part of yourself to serve sin and do what’s wrong. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have been brought from death to life. Offer every part of yourself to God to do what’s right.

But you know that Christ came to take our sins away. And there is no sin in him.

But you’ve been set free from sin, and you’ve become slaves of God. You’re gaining a great benefit from that: You’re living in the right way, and the end result will be eternal life.

If it could, wouldn’t those sacrifices have stopped being offered? The worshipers would have been made clean once and for all time. They wouldn’t feel guilty for their sins anymore.

and follow the path of love. That’s what Christ did. He loved us and gave himself up for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

So he gave us new life because of what Christ has done, even when we were dead in our sins. God’s grace has saved you.

He never sinned, but God made him become sin for us, so that in him we could be made right with God.

But if Israel’s going wrong has brought riches to the world, and their loss has brought riches to the Gentiles, how much greater riches will come when all Israel turns back to God!

He promised he would save us from our enemies, so we could serve him without fear

Scripture says, “He didn’t commit any sin. No lies ever came out of his mouth.”

May the eternal King, who will never die, who can’t be seen, and who is the only God, receive honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

“Through my experience with the law, I died to the law so that I might live for God.

How can the temple of the true God get along with idols? We are the temple of the living God, as God has said, “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God and they will be my people.”

After all, weren’t you cut from a wild olive tree and grafted onto an olive tree that was being cultivated in an orchard? You didn’t come from the same kind of tree. How much more easily will the natural branches be grafted back onto their own olive tree!

Ever since the world was created, the invisible qualities of God have been visible in everything he has made. Those qualities are his eternal power and his nature as God. So people have no excuse for what they do.

The one that God has sent speaks God’s words, because God gives the Spirit without limit.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to announce the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners, to make the blind see again, to set free those who are mistreated,

Be like the Son of Man, who didn’t come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life to set people free.”

By faith Jacob blessed both of Joseph’s sons when he was dying. He worshiped God as he leaned on the top of his staff.

It’s an illustration of the present time, when gifts and sacrifices are offered that can’t give the worshiper a clear conscience.

“Friends, why are you doing this? We’re only human, just like you. We’re bringing you good news, telling you to turn away from these worthless things to the living God. He’s the one who made the heavens, the earth, and the sea and everything in them.

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power, because God was with him.

But only the high priest could go into the inner room, and he could only go in once a year. He never entered without bringing blood with him, which he had to offer for himself and for the sins the people had committed without knowing any better.

so that if I have to put off my visit, you’ll know how people should act in God’s family, the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.

All the other believers are already talking about the kind of welcome you gave us, about how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God,

up to the time when he was taken to heaven. Before he left, Jesus gave instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he’d chosen.

If that’s how God dresses the wild grass, which is here today and gets thrown into the fire tomorrow, how much better will he dress you! You should have more faith.

Think about the ravens: They don’t plant or gather crops—they don’t have any barns at all—but God feeds them. You’re worth much more than birds!

But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is right here with you.

Even people who are bad know how to give good gifts to their children. How much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him!

and he was appointed by the Holy Spirit to be the mighty Son of God when God raised him from the dead. This is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

God didn’t treat them any differently from us, because he’d made their hearts pure by faith too.

It is written, “The first man Adam became a living person.” But the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Brothers and sisters, make sure that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

someone who has become a priest not because of a rule about his family line but because of the power of a life that can never be destroyed.

If he had, he would have had to suffer many times since the world was created. No, he has appeared once and for all time, now when God’s work is being completed. He has come to do away with sin by offering himself.

And by that will, we’ve been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all time.

But when Jesus, our priest, had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God.

Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to make the people holy by shedding his own blood.
