It’s clear that you’re a letter from Christ, the result of our work for God, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God. You’re a letter not written on tablets of stone but on human hearts.

But God chose you to be his own people, his royal priests, a holy nation, his special treasure. You’re all these things so that you can tell everyone how wonderful God is. He brought you out of darkness and into his marvelous light.

Here is my covenant with them: I will take away their sins.”

So get rid of everything that’s sinful and the evil that’s all around you, and humbly accept the word that’s planted in you, which can save you.

You’ve been born again through the living word of God, which lasts forever. You haven’t been born again from a seed that will die, but from one that can’t die.

God chose to give us new birth through the message of truth because he wanted us to be the first harvest of his new creation.

‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He isn’t the God of the dead; he’s the God of the living.”

Instead, they were longing for a better country, a heavenly one. So God isn’t ashamed to be called their God, because he has prepared a city for them.

Don’t you know that when you have sex with a prostitute, you become one with her in body? Scripture says, “The two will become one.”
