This Melchizedek was the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High. When Abraham was coming back from winning a battle against a group of kings, Melchizedek met him and blessed him.

where Jesus has gone to open the way ahead of us. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

He shouted at the top of his voice, “Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what do you want with me? Swear by God that you won’t hurt me!”

She followed Paul and the rest of us around, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They’re telling you how to be saved.”

Abraham gave him a tenth of everything he’d captured in the battle. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of what is right.” Then, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”

Melchizedek has no father or mother or family line. His life has no beginning or ending. He remains a priest forever, like the Son of God.

Melchizedek didn’t trace his family line from Levi, but he still collected a tenth from Abraham. Melchizedek blessed the one who had received the promises.
