In the case of the Levites, the tenth is received by people who eventually die. But in the case of Melchizedek, it’s received by someone who’s said to be living.

If the priests who came from Levi’s family could have made the people perfect by what they did at the temple, then why would another priest have to come who wasn’t in the order of Aaron, but in the order of Melchizedek? The law that was given to the people said that priests had to come from Levi’s family line.
