Because we have a great high priest who has gone up into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold on firmly to our faith.

Christ didn’t enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one. He entered heaven itself in order to appear before God on our behalf. He’s there right now.

And let’s keep looking to Jesus. He’s the one who leads us into faith and the one who makes our faith mature. Because of the joy he was looking forward to, he didn’t let the shame of being put to death on a cross stop him. He suffered on the cross, and then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let’s hold firmly to the hope we say we have, because the one who promised is faithful.

He didn’t enter by shedding the blood of goats and calves. Instead, he entered the Most Holy Place by shedding his own blood, once and for all time. In that way, he paid the price to set us free from sin forever.

where Jesus has gone to open the way ahead of us. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

The one who came down is the same one who went up. He went up higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole creation.

Then who can say we’re guilty? No one. Christ Jesus, who died for us—indeed, who was raised for us—is at the right hand of God praying for us.

We have come to share in Christ, but we need to maintain right to the end the confidence we started with.

So he had to be made like them—fully human in every way. That way he could serve God as a merciful and faithful high priest and purify the people from their sins.

But when Jesus, our priest, had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God.

Here’s the main point of what we’re saying: We have just this kind of high priest, who’s sitting at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven.

“Men of Galilee,” they asked, “why are you standing here looking at the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come back just as you saw him go.”

But about the Son he says, “God, your throne will last for ever and ever. You will rule your kingdom with justice and righteousness.

Heaven must receive him until the time when God makes everything new, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

When the Lord Jesus had finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven, where he sat down at the right hand of God.

So we must pay very careful attention to what we’ve heard, so that we don’t drift away from it.

Here begins the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.

The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

You will have shown that you’re dependable by what you’ve given. Other people will praise God because you’ve obeyed him and shown that you really do believe the good news about Christ. They’ll also praise God because you’ve shared so freely with them and with everyone else.

I know a man in Christ who was taken up to the third heaven 14 years ago. I don’t know whether his body was taken up or not—only God knows.

Holy brothers and sisters, who take part in God’s calling, I want you to focus your attention on Jesus, who is the messenger and high priest of our faith.

it’s not possible to bring them back. They won’t be able to turn away from their sins. They’re nailing the Son of God to the cross all over again and bringing shame on him in front of everyone—although they’re the ones who are really losing out.

Melchizedek has no father or mother or family line. His life has no beginning or ending. He remains a priest forever, like the Son of God.

But wouldn’t people deserve even more punishment if they’ve trampled the Son of God under their feet, treated the blood of the covenant as unholy, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

He has now gone into heaven, and he’s at God’s right hand, with angels, authorities, and powers under his control.
