Holy brothers and sisters, who take part in God’s calling, I want you to focus your attention on Jesus, who is the messenger and high priest of our faith.

God has saved us and called us to live a holy life. This isn’t because of anything we’ve done, but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus even before time began.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize, because God has called me toward heaven in Christ Jesus in order to win it.

A high priest like him truly meets our needs. He’s holy, blameless, and pure, and he has been lifted up high above the heavens. He’s different from people who sin.

As a prisoner of the Lord, I ask you to live a life worthy of the purposes God has chosen you to fulfill.

But God chose you to be his own people, his royal priests, a holy nation, his special treasure. You’re all these things so that you can tell everyone how wonderful God is. He brought you out of darkness and into his marvelous light.

So he had to be made like them—fully human in every way. That way he could serve God as a merciful and faithful high priest and purify the people from their sins.

We also have a great priest over the house of God.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.

We encouraged you, comforted you, and urged you to live in a way worthy of God, who has called you into his kingdom and glory.

I do all of this for the sake of the good news, so that I can share in its blessings.

Think about what I’m saying, and the Lord will help you understand what it all means.

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you openly told others what you believed in front of many witnesses.

I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the founders of our nation would be confirmed.

Jesus, who makes people holy, belongs to the same family as the people he makes holy. That’s why he isn’t ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.

Jesus said again, “May peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I’m sending you.”

We have come to share in Christ, but we need to maintain right to the end the confidence we started with.

Slaves whose masters are believers shouldn’t treat them with less respect just because the masters are believers. Instead, they should serve them even better. They should love their masters because they’re believers too and because they’re committed to caring for them. These are the things you are to teach and insist on.

God called you to be saved through the good news that we preach, and you will share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Keeping this in mind, we pray for you constantly. We pray that God will make you worthy of his calling and, by his power, make every good thing you want to do come true. We pray that he will make perfect everything you’ve done by faith.

I command you in the name of the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, put on tender mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience as if they were new clothes.

But through Christ’s death, God has brought you back to himself and made you holy in his own sight. So now you don’t have any flaws and you’re free from blame.

You’ll give thanks joyfully to the Father, who has entitled you to share in what he’ll give to all his holy people in the kingdom of light.

Even though you’re suffering just as we are, we’re confident that God will comfort you, just as he’s comforting us.

To the members of God’s church in Corinth. You have been made holy in Christ Jesus, and you’ve been called to be his holy people together with all those everywhere who pray to our Lord Jesus Christ, who is their Lord and ours.

They were glad to do it, and it acknowledges their debt of gratitude. After all, if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they should also share their own earthly blessings with the Jews.

Some of the natural branches have been broken off. You Gentiles are like a wild olive branch that has been grafted onto the tree with the other branches. Now you’re enjoying the life-giving sap of the olive tree root.

We are those people. He has chosen us not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles. As

After you’ve suffered for a little while, the God of all grace will restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. He has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ.

I want to appeal to the elders among you as someone who’s an elder himself. I also appeal to you as a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as someone who will share in the glory that’s going to be revealed.

That’s how the holy women of the past used to make themselves beautiful when they put their hope in God and followed the lead of their own husbands.

But then, when Christ came as the high priest of the good things that have already arrived, he went through the greater and more perfect holy tent. That tent wasn’t made with human hands. In other words, it’s not part of this creation.

where Jesus has gone to open the way ahead of us. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body, because we all share the one loaf.

And this is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you’ve sent.

In those days there were about 120 believers. Peter stood up among them to speak.

You will have shown that you’re dependable by what you’ve given. Other people will praise God because you’ve obeyed him and shown that you really do believe the good news about Christ. They’ll also praise God because you’ve shared so freely with them and with everyone else.

Brothers and sisters, make sure that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

The law appoints men who are weak to be high priests. But after the law had been given, God swore an oath and appointed his Son, who has been made perfect forever.

That’s why Christ is the mediator of a new covenant. Now the people that God has called to himself can receive the eternal gift he promised. They can receive it because Christ has died to pay the price and set them free from the sins they committed under the first covenant.

Brothers and sisters, we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

Let’s hold firmly to the hope we say we have, because the one who promised is faithful.

I ask you, brothers and sisters, to listen carefully to the challenges and encouragement that I’ve offered you briefly.
