But we can see that Jesus has already been crowned with glory and honor because he suffered and died. He was made lower than the angels for a little while so that by the grace of God he could taste death for everyone.

I’m going to be lifted up from the earth, and when I am, I will draw all people to myself.”

That’s why he’s able to save completely and for all time people who come to God through him. Jesus never stops praying for them.

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. So your faith and hope are in God.

Every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices, so this priest had to have something to offer too.

who gave himself to pay for the sins of all people. We’ve been given this message at just the right time.

He never sinned, but God made him become sin for us, so that in him we could be made right with God.

God didn’t spare his own Son; instead, he gave him up for all of us. How will God not also, along with his Son, freely give us all things?

But then the chosen time came, and God sent his Son. He was born to a woman, and he was born under the authority of the law. This was so he could set everyone free who was under the authority of the law.

The God of our fathers—of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has done this, to bring glory to his servant Jesus. But you handed Jesus over to be killed. You spoke against him when he was in Pilate’s court, even though Pilate had decided to let him go.

God did what the written law was not able to do, since it was weakened by our sinful desires. God sent his Son to be an offering for sin. He sent him in human form like those who are susceptible to sin. When God did this, he passed judgment against sin so that it could no longer control people through their wrong desires.

The reason my Father loves me is that I give up my life. But I will get it back again.

At this they exclaimed, “Now we know you’re controlled by a demon! Abraham died, and so did the prophets. But you’re saying that whoever obeys your word will never die.

“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

His eyes are like blazing fire, and he has many crowns on his head. He has a name written on him that only he knows.

But you made them a little lower than the angels, you crowned them with glory and honor,

“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not die before they see God’s kingdom.”

Then Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not die before they’ve seen the kingdom of God come with power.”

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the wild flowers grow. They don’t work or make clothes,

Truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never die.”

You have loved what is right and hated what is wrong, so your God has placed you above your companions and poured the sacred oil of joy on your head.”

By faith Enoch was taken from this life so that he didn’t experience death. “He couldn’t be found, because God had taken him away.” Before God took him, Enoch was praised as someone who had pleased God.

And let’s keep looking to Jesus. He’s the one who leads us into faith and the one who makes our faith mature. Because of the joy he was looking forward to, he didn’t let the shame of being put to death on a cross stop him. He suffered on the cross, and then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
