Keep on remembering those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and continue to remember those who are being treated badly as if you yourselves were suffering.

I needed clothes, and you gave some to me. I was sick, and you took care of me; I was in prison, and you came to visit me.’

You suffered along with people in prison, and when your property was taken from you, you accepted that with joy, because you knew that God had given you better and more lasting things.

If someone is happy, share their happiness, and if someone is sad, share their sadness.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.

I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand. Remember that I’m being held in chains. May God’s grace be with you.

He ordered the officer to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and let his friends to take care of his needs.

As a prisoner of the Lord, I ask you to live a life worthy of the purposes God has chosen you to fulfill.

The next day we landed at Sidon. There Julius kindly let Paul visit his friends so they could give him things he needed.

Some were killed with stones, some were sawed in two, and some were killed by swords. They went around wearing the skins of sheep and goats. They were poor, systematically oppressed, and mistreated.
