When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me;

Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Welcome one another into your homes.

Entertain others in your homes without complaining.

Instead, a church leader must welcome people into his home. He must love what is good and be self-controlled, decent, holy, and disciplined.

and she must be well known for doing good things such as bringing up children, inviting guests into her home, serving the Lord’s people in humble ways, and helping those in trouble. A widow should spend her time doing all kinds of good things like these.

But a leader must have a good reputation. He must be faithful to his wife. He must be restrained, self-controlled, and worthy of respect. He must welcome people into his home, and he must be able to teach.

Gaius sends you his greetings. I’m staying with him here, and the whole church meets in his house. Erastus, the director of public works here in the city, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings.

When she and her family were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “then come and stay at my house.” She convinced us to make her home our base of operations.

Dear friend, you’re faithful in what you’re doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they’re strangers to you.
