The words “once more” show that the things that can be shaken (that is, created things) are going to be taken away. Then the things that can’t be shaken will remain.
The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven. They said, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will rule for ever and ever.”
But then, when Christ came as the high priest of the good things that have already arrived, he went through the greater and more perfect holy tent. That tent wasn’t made with human hands. In other words, it’s not part of this creation.
He will live with them, and they’ll be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or sadness or crying or pain, because these things are gone forever.”
The one who was sitting on the throne said, “I’m making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down. You can trust these words, because they’re true.”
