And let’s keep looking to Jesus. He’s the one who leads us into faith and the one who makes our faith mature. Because of the joy he was looking forward to, he didn’t let the shame of being put to death on a cross stop him. He suffered on the cross, and then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Christ also suffered once for sins. Someone who did right suffered for those who did wrong, in order to bring you to God. Jesus was put to death in the body, but he was made alive in the Spirit.

The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

and follow the path of love. That’s what Christ did. He loved us and gave himself up for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

And I’m confident that God, who has begun a good work in you, will carry it on until it’s completed on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

God has lifted Jesus up and given him a place of honor at his right hand, making him Prince and Savior so he can turn Israel away from their sins and forgive them.

Didn’t the Messiah have to suffer these things and then receive his glory?”

Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.

Here’s the main point of what we’re saying: We have just this kind of high priest, who’s sitting at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven.

Now there’s a crown waiting for me, the crown that’s given to those who are right with God. The Lord, who judges fairly, will give it to me on the day he returns, and not only to me, but also to all those who are longing for him to return.

The law didn’t make anything perfect, but a better hope has now been given to us, and it brings us near to God.

God never said to an angel, “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your control.”

“So be sure of this, all you Israelites. God has made Jesus, the one you nailed to the cross, both Lord and Messiah.”

Jesus replied, “Elijah will come first and put everything back in order. So why is it written that the Son of Man will suffer much and be rejected?

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God. “I am the God who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Some were insulted and whipped; some were held in chains and put in prison.

Sometimes people spoke badly about you in front of others. Sometimes you were mistreated. At other times you stood side by side with people who were being treated like that.

When the Lord Jesus had finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven, where he sat down at the right hand of God.

You killed the author of life—but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of that.

The message of the cross seems foolish to those who are lost. But to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.

but we preach about Christ and his death on the cross. That’s very hard for Jews to accept, and Gentiles think it’s foolish.

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ shouldn’t treat some people better than others.
