You suffered along with people in prison, and when your property was taken from you, you accepted that with joy, because you knew that God had given you better and more lasting things.

I’m sending you prophets, wise people, and teachers. You’ll kill some of them by nailing them to a cross. You’ll whip others in your synagogues and chase them from town to town.

Don’t be afraid of what you’re going to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you’ll be mistreated for ten days. Be faithful, even if you have to die, and I’ll give you life as your victory crown.

and I’m suffering for it like a criminal in these chains. But God’s word isn’t being held back by chains.

May the Lord show mercy to all who live in the house of Onesiphorus. He has often encouraged me. He wasn’t ashamed of me, even though I was being held in chains.

As a prisoner of the Lord, I ask you to live a life worthy of the purposes God has chosen you to fulfill.

After two years passed, Porcius Festus became the governor instead of Felix. But Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, so he left Paul in prison.

The commander came up and arrested Paul. He ordered him to be held with two chains. Then he asked who Paul was and what he had done.

But Saul began to destroy the church. He went from house to house and dragged out men and women and put them in prison.

Gamaliel convinced the leaders. They called in the apostles and had them whipped. They ordered them not to speak in Jesus’ name, and then they let them go.

They arrested them and put them in the public jail.

The temple leaders arrested Peter and John, and because it was already evening, they put them in prison until the next day.

The soldiers also came up and made fun of him. They offered him wine vinegar

Herod and his soldiers mocked Jesus and made fun of him. They dressed him in a fancy robe and then sent him back to Pilate.

He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and they will mock him, laugh at him, and spit on him.

who will humiliate him and spit on him, whip him and kill him. But three days later, he will rise from the dead!”

Then to make the people happy Pilate set Barabbas free. He had Jesus whipped, and then he handed him over to be crucified.

“But the renters mistreated his slaves. They beat one of them, killed another, and threw stones at a third.

and hand him over to the Gentiles, who will make fun of him and whip him. They will nail him to a cross, but on the third day he will rise from the dead!”

I, Paul, am in prison because of my work on behalf of you Gentiles. That’s how I’m serving Christ Jesus.
