The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, because you created all things, and by your will they were created and came into existence.”

The Word became human and made his home with us. We have seen his glory the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they can’t see the light of the good news that makes Christ’s glory clear. He is the image of God.

And let’s keep looking to Jesus. He’s the one who leads us into faith and the one who makes our faith mature. Because of the joy he was looking forward to, he didn’t let the shame of being put to death on a cross stop him. He suffered on the cross, and then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In him was life, and that life was the light for all people.

But when Jesus, our priest, had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God.

So may the only God, our Savior, receive glory, majesty, power, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord—before all time, now, and forever! Amen.

If he had, he would have had to suffer many times since the world was created. No, he has appeared once and for all time, now when God’s work is being completed. He has come to do away with sin by offering himself.

But if we walk in the light, just as he is in the light, then we share life with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us pure from all sin.

Because we have a great high priest who has gone up into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold on firmly to our faith.

But you know that Christ came to take our sins away. And there is no sin in him.

When we told you about the time our Lord Jesus Christ came with power, we weren’t trying to fool you by making up stories. We saw him in all his majesty with our own eyes.

He has now gone into heaven, and he’s at God’s right hand, with angels, authorities, and powers under his control.

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. So your faith and hope are in God.

Here’s the main point of what we’re saying: We have just this kind of high priest, who’s sitting at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven.

When the Lord Jesus had finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven, where he sat down at the right hand of God.

‘If anyone wins the victory, I’ll give that person the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Unlike the other high priests, he doesn’t need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people. Instead, Jesus made one sacrifice for the sins of the people, once and for all time, when he offered himself.

Jesus has been given a place of honor at the right hand of God, and he has received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father. It is Jesus who has poured out what you now see and hear.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. He said, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Since you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is sitting at God’s right hand.

Then who can say we’re guilty? No one. Christ Jesus, who died for us—indeed, who was raised for us—is at the right hand of God praying for us.

“Look!” he said. “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at God’s right hand.”

I’m not ashamed of the good news. It’s the power of God that can save everyone who believes, first the Jews and then also the Gentiles.
