I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law, or by believing what you heard?

since you’re asking me to prove that Christ is speaking through me. He isn’t weak in dealing with you. He’s powerful in your midst.

Paul and Barnabas spent a lot of time there, speaking boldly for the Lord. He gave them the ability to do signs and wonders, and in this way, the Lord showed that they were telling the truth about his grace.

While I was with you, I demonstrated the signs of a true apostle with great endurance, including signs, wonders, and miracles.

The weapons I fight with aren’t the weapons of this world. They’re just the opposite! They use the power of God to destroy resistance—

through the power of signs and wonders, and through the power of the Spirit of God. I have now preached the good news about Christ to everyone from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.

Wouldn’t the work of the Holy Spirit be even more glorious?

To another he gives the power to do miracles, or to prophesy, or to tell spirits apart, or to speak in different kinds of languages they hadn’t known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages.

So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the preaching about Christ.

God, who supplies seed for planting and bread for eating, will also supply and increase the amount of your seed and the good works that grow from it.

because I know you’re praying for me and that God will give me the Spirit of Jesus Christ to help me. No matter what happens, I’ll be set free.
