If someone comes to you and preaches about a Jesus who’s different from the Jesus we preached about, or a spirit different from the Spirit you received, or a version of the good news that’s different from the one you accepted, you put up with those kinds of things easily enough.

God has saved us and called us to live a holy life. This isn’t because of anything we’ve done, but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus even before time began.

God called you to be saved through the good news that we preach, and you will share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Through him we have access, by faith, to that grace in which we are established, and we pride ourselves in the hope of the glory of God.

Unlike many people, we aren’t selling God’s word to make money. It’s just the opposite! Because of Christ, we speak honestly before God, as people God has truly sent.

which is not good news at all. It seems that some people have gotten you all confused by twisting the good news about Christ.

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the good news I preached to you didn’t come from human beings.

But God had set me apart before I was born and called me by his grace. When he was pleased

I went because God showed me that he wanted me to go. I met privately with those who are respected as leaders. I presented to them the good news that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure that it wasn’t useless for me to keep presenting the good news that way.

But we didn’t give in to them for a moment, in order to protect the truth of the good news for you.

It was just the opposite! They recognized that I had been trusted with the task of preaching the good news to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been trusted with preaching to the Jews.

When I saw that they were not acting consistently with the truth of the good news, I spoke to Peter in front of everyone. I said, “You’re a Jew, but you live like a Gentile, not a Jew. So why are you trying force the Gentiles to follow Jewish ways?

You can obey the entire law by following this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
