Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews who are working together with me for God’s kingdom, and they’ve been a comfort to me.
There are many rebellious people who try to deceive others with smooth talk. This is especially true of those who say that Gentiles who believe in Jesus have to be circumcised.
And Abraham is also the father of those who are circumcised, but who aren’t just circumcised—they also follow in the steps of our father Abraham, who had faith before he was circumcised.
They began to praise God by speaking in unknown languages. When the Jewish believers who’d come with Peter heard this, they were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit was being poured out even on Gentiles. Peter said,
And I urge you, my true companion, to help these women, because they’ve worked with me to spread the good news. So has Clement, and so have the rest of those who’ve worked together with me. Their names are all written in the book of life.
Some of you are Gentiles, not Jews, by birth. You’re called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “circumcised.” But they’ve only been circumcised in their bodies by human hands.
