Aristarchus, who’s in prison with me, sends you his greetings. So does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. You’ve been given directions about him. If he comes to you, welcome him.

Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, who work together with me, also send you greetings.

Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he’s helpful to me in my work for the Lord.

Soon the whole city was upset. The people dragged Gaius and Aristarchus, two men who’d come with Paul from Macedonia, into the assembly hall.

We boarded a ship from Adramyttium that was about to sail for ports along the coast of the province of Asia. When we headed out to sea, Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, came with us.

Several men went with him. They were Sopater, the son of Pyrrhus, from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus from Asia.

Now that Peter understood what was going on, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark. Many people had gathered in her home to pray there.

The one who is in Babylon, who is chosen together with you, sends her greetings. Mark, my son in the faith, also sends you his greetings.

Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews. They have been in prison with me, and they are leaders among the apostles. They became believers in Christ before I did.

Please offer her your hospitality, in the way God’s people should welcome a fellow believer. I ask you to help with anything she might need from you, because she has been very helpful to many people herself, including me.

From Paphos, Paul and those who were traveling with him sailed to Perga in Pamphylia. There John Mark split up with them and returned to Jerusalem.

One person who did this was Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus. The apostles called him Barnabas, which means Son of Encouragement.

When they arrived at Salamis, they preached God’s word in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper.

After Barnabas and Saul had delivered the gift the believers had sent from Antioch, they returned from Jerusalem, bringing with them John, who was also called Mark.
