Then Peter began to speak. “I now realize how true it is that God doesn’t play favorites,” he said.

God doesn’t show favoritism.

We must all stand before Christ to be judged, and then each of us will receive what we deserve for the things we did while we were in our bodies, whether they were good or bad.

None of you should sin against your brother or sister by doing that. You shouldn’t take advantage of your brother or sister. The Lord will punish everyone who commits sins like those. We’ve already told you and warned you about that.

You call on a Father who judges each person’s work without favoring one person over another. So live with the highest respect for God during your time as outsiders here.

Masters, treat your slaves with the same kind of respect. Don’t threaten them, because you know that God, who is their Master and yours, is in heaven. He doesn’t let people get away with things just because of their positions.

The message that God spoke through the angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law or didn’t obey God, they were punished.

Masters, give your slaves what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

So the spies questioned Jesus. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you speak and teach what is right. We know you don’t favor one person over another. You teach the way of God truthfully.

These people follow their own evil desires. They grumble and complain about others, but they brag about themselves and praise others to get what they want.

If he has done anything wrong to you, or if he owes you anything, then charge it to me.

The Son of Man is going to come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and he will deal with each person according to what they’ve done.

You know that the Lord will give each one a reward for whatever good they do, whether they’re a slave or a free person.

And God will do what’s fair in the end by paying those who are troubling you back with trouble of their own,
