Because those children have bodies made out of flesh and blood, Jesus became human like them in order to die for them. By doing that, he could stop the one who rules over the kingdom of death, that is, the devil,
“Or think about this. You can’t just walk into a strong man’s house and take what he owns. You have to tie him up first, and then you can rob his house.
We’re not fighting against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.
The devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will all suffer day and night for ever and ever.
All things were created in him: everything in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, all kings, powers, rulers, and authorities; all things have been created by him and for him.
But if someone who’s even stronger attacks him and overpowers him, then the attacker can take away even the armor that the man trusted in. He will steal everything and then go off and sort through it.
The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they can’t see the light of the good news that makes Christ’s glory clear. He is the image of God.
The great dragon was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. That dragon is the old serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as if we were prisoners in Christ’s victory parade. He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere like perfume.
