All these gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit. He gives gifts to each person, just as he decides.

I’ve always wanted to preach the good news where Christ is not known. I don’t want to build on someone else’s foundation.

You’ve been faithful and you’ve endured a lot of trouble because of me. You haven’t given up.

So I put up with everything for the good of God’s chosen people, so that they also can be saved through Christ Jesus, with glory that will last forever.

You’re going through the same struggle that you saw me go through and that you hear I’m going through now.

But no matter what happens, live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you, I’ll know that you’re standing firm together in the one Spirit and that you’re fighting together as a unit to defend the good news.

God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine. He does everything by his power that is at work in us.

since you’re asking me to prove that Christ is speaking through me. He isn’t weak in dealing with you. He’s powerful in your midst.

Are they serving Christ? I’m serving him even more. (I’m out of my mind to talk like this!) I’ve worked much harder. I’ve been in prison more often. I’ve suffered terrible beatings. Again and again I’ve almost died.

We don’t give up if we’re beaten or put in prison, or if people stir up trouble in the streets. We work hard and go without sleep or food if we have to.

So we try our best to make sure that he’ll be pleased with us, whether we’re at home in our bodies or away from them.

There are different ways the Spirit works, but the same God is working in all these ways and in every person.

I ask you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Holy Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.

“Try very hard to enter through the narrow door. I tell you that many will try to enter, but they will not be able to.

In your own struggle against sin, you haven’t yet resisted to the point where your blood has been shed.

When you were baptized, you were buried together with Christ, and you were raised to life with him by believing in the work that God did when he raised Jesus from the dead.
