The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Jesus answered, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I’ve been with you for so long? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they can’t see the light of the good news that makes Christ’s glory clear. He is the image of God.
The Word became human and made his home with us. We have seen his glory the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
God said, “Let light shine out of darkness.” And he made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light we needed to know God’s glory, which is shown in the face of Christ.
God planned that those he already knew ahead of time would become like his Son. In that way, Christ would become the first and most honored among many brothers and sisters.
God is the only one who can’t die. He lives in light that no one can approach. No one has seen him and no one can see him. Honor and power belong to him forever. Amen.
If I hadn’t done works among them that no one else had done, they wouldn’t be guilty of sin. But now they’ve seen those works and they’ve still hated both me and my Father.
By faith Moses left Egypt. He knew this would make Pharaoh angry, but he wasn’t afraid. He didn’t let anything stop him, because he saw the God who can’t be seen.
