When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away. The official did not see him again, but he went on his way filled with joy.

Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven opening up and the Holy Spirit coming down on him like a dove.

We’re the ones who have truly been circumcised: We serve God by his Spirit, we boast in Christ Jesus, and we don’t put our trust in who we are or what we can do—although I myself could do that for many reasons.

As it is, you’re bragging about plans that you’ve made in your pride. That kind of bragging is wrong.

Always rejoice in the Lord. I’ll say it again: Rejoice!

The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

So there was great joy in that city.

Right after Jesus was baptized, as he was coming up out of the water, at that moment, heaven was opened and Jesus saw the Spirit of God coming down on him like a dove.

The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal in front of them. He and everyone who lived with him were filled with joy because they had all become believers in God.

The Holy Spirit told Philip, “Go over to that chariot and stay near it.”

He gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the official went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
