Acts 7:35

“This is the same Moses those men of Israel rejected by saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge?’ But God himself sent Moses to rule the people of Israel and set them free when he spoke to him through the angel who appeared in the bush.

“But the people who were going to be his subjects hated him. They sent some messengers after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’

and they sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb. They sang, “Lord God Almighty, everything you do is great and amazing. King of the nations, your ways are true and fair.

The message that God spoke through the angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law or didn’t obey God, they were punished.

The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is the first, and he’s over all creation.

“You stubborn people! You won’t obey! You won’t listen! You’re just like your people of long ago! You always oppose the Holy Spirit!

“Forty years went by. Then an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

God has lifted Jesus up and given him a place of honor at his right hand, making him Prince and Savior so he can turn Israel away from their sins and forgive them.

Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up a prophet like me for you. That prophet will be one of your own people. You must listen to everything he tells you.

“So be sure of this, all you Israelites. God has made Jesus, the one you nailed to the cross, both Lord and Messiah.”

But they shouted, “Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!” “Should I crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “The only king we have is Caesar!” the chief priests answered.

They shouted back, “No! Not him! Give us Barabbas!” Barabbas was a man who’d taken part in a rebellion against the country’s rulers.

But as for whether people rise from the dead, haven’t you read the story of the burning bush in the Book of Moses? God said to Moses, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
