Christ set us free from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. It is written, “Everyone who is hanged on a pole is under God’s curse.”

“He himself carried our sins” in his body on the cross. He did that so, free from sins, we would lead godly lives. “His wounds have healed you.”

“We are witnesses of everything he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by nailing him to a cross,

“Then he said, ‘The God of our people has chosen you, and he wants you to know the plans he has for you, to see the Blameless One, and to hear his voice.

and he has now kept them for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. This is what is written in the second Psalm: “ ‘You are my son; today I have become your father.’

When God raised up his servant Jesus, he sent him to you first. That was to bless you and turn you each away from doing wrong.”

God has raised this same Jesus back to life. We are all witnesses of that.

He has been merciful to our ancestors and remembered his holy covenant,

as he promised our fathers, to Abraham and his descendants forever.”
