Peter and the other apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than people!

I know I’m talking to reasonable people; judge for yourselves what I say.

This is good, and it pleases God our Savior,

Stop judging only by what you see. Judge in the right way.”

“Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”

If you would, aren’t you treating some people better than others? Aren’t you like judges who have evil thoughts?

Children, obey your parents as a way of obeying the Lord. That’s the right thing to do.

Instead, we refuse to do secret and shameful things. We don’t trick anyone, and we don’t twist God’s word. We do just the opposite! We present the truth plainly so that everyone can judge us in their own conscience before God.

By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born. They saw that he was a special child, and they weren’t afraid of the king’s command.

Jesus sent Peter and John on ahead and told them, “Go, prepare for us to eat the Passover meal.”

The leaders knew that Peter and John were ordinary, untrained men, and so they were amazed by how boldly they spoke. They recognized that the two of them had been with Jesus.

“We gave you clear orders not to teach in Jesus’ name,” he said. “But you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching. You want to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”
