Acts 3:19

Radiate New Testament

So turn away from your sins and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped away. Then the time will come when the Lord makes everything new.

Peter replied, “Turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus then said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you’ll never enter the kingdom of heaven.

The hearts of these people have become stubborn. They can barely hear with their ears and they’ve closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts. Then they might turn to the Lord, and he would heal them.’

and he’ll give relief to you who are troubled and to us as well. All this will happen when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.

The Lord’s power was with them, and large numbers of people believed and turned to the Lord.

But don’t forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

These people’s hearts have become stubborn. They can barely hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts. Then they would turn, and I would heal them.’

“You were like sheep wandering away.” But now you have returned to the Shepherd who watches over your souls.

All these things will happen when he comes to be glorified in his holy people. Everyone who has believed will be amazed when they see him. This includes you, because you have believed our testimony to you.

When they heard this, they didn’t question or criticize Peter any longer. Instead, they praised God and said, “So then, God has allowed even Gentiles to turn away from their sins and find life!”

He will bring many of the people of Israel back to the Lord their God. Having the same spirit and power as Elijah, he will go ahead of the Lord, creating peace between parents and their children and teaching people who are disobeying to be wise and do what is right.

Brothers and sisters, here’s a mystery I want you to understand. It will keep you from being proud. Part of Israel has refused to obey God, and that will continue until the full number of Gentiles has entered God’s kingdom.

From one man he made all the people who now live all over the earth. This God decided exactly when and where each group of people should live.

The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had turned to God. This news made all the believers very glad.

Heaven must receive him until the time when God makes everything new, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Then the apostles gathered around Jesus and asked him a question. “Lord,” they said, “are you now going to give the kingdom back to Israel?”

He will live with them, and they’ll be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or sadness or crying or pain, because these things are gone forever.”

If anyone opposes them, they must correct them gently, hoping that God will give them a change of heart and lead them to know the truth.

He will send Jesus, who is the Messiah he has appointed for you.

But the promise of entering God’s rest is still open. So I want you all to be careful not to miss it.

But Peter denied it. “Woman,” he replied, “I don’t know him.”
