For two whole years Paul stayed there in a house he rented. He welcomed everyone who came to see him.

He proclaimed the kingdom of God boldly and taught people about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one kept him from teaching and preaching about those things.

It’s clear I’m being held in chains because I’m a witness for Christ. All of the palace guards know this, and so does everyone else here.

He replied, “Come and see.” So they went and saw where he was staying. They went at about four o’clock in the afternoon, and they spent the rest of the day with him.

After all this had happened, Paul decided to go over to Macedonia and Achaia and then on to Jerusalem. “And after I’ve been there,” he said, “I must also visit Rome.”

After two years passed, Porcius Festus became the governor instead of Felix. But Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, so he left Paul in prison.

When we got to Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself with a soldier guarding him.

That way, I’ll be full of joy when come to you, if that’s God’s will, and we’ll have a refreshing time together.

We don’t give up if we’re beaten or put in prison, or if people stir up trouble in the streets. We work hard and go without sleep or food if we have to.

Are they serving Christ? I’m serving him even more. (I’m out of my mind to talk like this!) I’ve worked much harder. I’ve been in prison more often. I’ve suffered terrible beatings. Again and again I’ve almost died.

It was just the opposite! When he was in Rome, he looked everywhere for me, and he finally found me.

Preach the word, be ready to serve God in good times and bad, correct people’s mistakes. Warn them, encourage them with words of hope, and be very patient as you do these things. Teach the people carefully,
