I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the founders of our nation would be confirmed.
Paul knew that some of them were Sadducees and others were Pharisees. So he called out to the members of the Sanhedrin, “My brothers, I’m a Pharisee. I come from a family of Pharisees. I’m on trial because I believe that people will rise from the dead.”
But then the chosen time came, and God sent his Son. He was born to a woman, and he was born under the authority of the law. This was so he could set everyone free who was under the authority of the law.
The only thing I can think of that I might have done wrong was to shout out when I was on trial, ‘I believe that people will rise from the dead. That’s why I am on trial here today.’ ”
