He ordered the officer to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and let his friends to take care of his needs.
When we got to Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself with a soldier guarding him.
The next day we landed at Sidon. There Julius kindly let Paul visit his friends so they could give him things he needed.
He proclaimed the kingdom of God boldly and taught people about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one kept him from teaching and preaching about those things.
He did send for Paul again many times to talk with him, but he was also hoping that Paul would offer him some money to let him go.

But Paul’s nephew found out about this plan. He went into the fort and told him about it.
Festus answered, “Paul is being held at Caesarea, and I’ll be going there soon myself.
