So the officer took Paul’s nephew to the commander. The officer said, “Paul, the prisoner, sent for me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.”

I, Paul, am in prison because of my work on behalf of you Gentiles. That’s how I’m serving Christ Jesus.

But I would rather appeal to you on the basis of love. I, Paul, am an old man, and now I’m also a prisoner of Christ Jesus.

As a prisoner of the Lord, I ask you to live a life worthy of the purposes God has chosen you to fulfill.

Three days later Paul called a meeting of the local Jewish leaders. When they came, Paul said to them, “My brothers, I have done nothing against our people or the customs we’ve had since long ago. But I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.

Since it was decided that we would sail for Italy, Paul and some other prisoners were handed over to a Roman commander named Julius. He belonged to the Imperial Guard and led 100 men.

Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. The other prisoners were listening to them.

Jesus responded, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, teacher,” he said.

Then the group of soldiers, their commander, and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They tied him up

Then Paul called one of the officers and said, “Take this young man to the commander. He has something to tell him.”

The commander took the young man off to one side so he could speak with him privately. “What do you want to tell me?” he asked.
